The biggest printer a consumer can buy new is the Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga at 800 × 800 × 1000 mm; it weighs 104 kg and sits on the floor. Below it, the Sovol SV08 Max at 500 mm cubed is the largest CoreXY, and the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max, Elegoo Neptune 4 Max and Creality Ender-5 Max cover 400 mm. Every step up costs cubically in print time and linearly in power and floor space; most buyers who think they need 500 mm are served by 400.

What size costs
- Time. Volume scales with the cube: an 800 mm part is eight times a 400 mm part. The Giga exists to be run for days with a 1.0 mm nozzle.
- Power. A 400 mm heated bed is a serious load; an 800 mm bed needs its own circuit.
- Floor and mass. Above 400 mm, printers stop being desk objects.
- Materials. Only the Qidi Max 4, K2 Plus and Bambu H2 series are large and heated; everything bigger is PLA and PETG territory. See warping.
- Frame. Bedslingers at 420 mm sling kilograms; the SV08 Max and Ender-5 Max keep the bed still in XY.
Who really needs XXL
Prop makers, sign shops, furniture prototypers and cosplayers who refuse seams. Everyone else should read large format printers and pick 350 to 400 mm. The Giga has its own page: OrangeStorm Giga; the value 400 mm pick is the Ender-5 Max.
The units in the box
The listings are the SV08 Max, the Kobra 3 Max Combo and the Ender-5 Max; the Giga is sold direct.
FAQ
