Armour is the largest, lightest thing most people ever print, and every seam is an hour of filling and sanding. A 300 mm class printer (Creality K1 Max) prints most plates and helmets whole; 400 mm (Ender-5 Max, Kobra 3 Max) prints chest plates and shields in one piece. A 0.6 mm nozzle, two walls and low infill make a plate light and fast; lightweight foaming PLA halves the weight again. Reliability over 20-hour prints matters more than speed.

Settings for plates
- 0.6 mm nozzle, 0.3 mm layers, 2 walls, 5 to 8 percent infill, 3 top and bottom layers.
- Orient the plate so overhangs face down onto supports you will sand anyway; the outer face up.
- Lightweight foaming PLA at 220 to 250 °C for helmets and shoulders; halves the weight.
- Split on natural edges with pins; CA glue, then filler primer.
Filament

Long-print reliability
