Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga: 800 × 800 × 1000 mm, and What That Costs

The OrangeStorm Giga is an 800 × 800 × 1000 mm bedslinger with a 300 °C hotend, 100 °C bed, 300 mm/s rated speed, an optional four-head configuration and a 104 kg weight. It is for furniture-scale PLA and PETG, props and signage. It needs its own room, its own circuit and days per print. If your largest part fits in 400 mm, the Ender-5 Max or SV08 Max is the sensible buy. Based on manufacturer data and owner reports.

What it is for
One-piece cosplay suits, life-size props, planters and furniture components, signage and moulds. At this scale the constraint is time: a 0.6 mm nozzle at 150 mm/s fills an 800 mm part over days, which is why the four-head option exists, to print four parts in parallel rather than one faster. A 1.0 mm nozzle and thick layers are how owners actually use it.
What it demands
- Floor space close to a metre square plus clearance for the bed travel, and a floor that holds 104 kg.
- Power for an 800 mm heated bed; run it on its own circuit.
- Patience with mesh levelling on an 800 mm bed and with a moving-bed frame at this mass.
- PLA and PETG only in practice. ABS at this size on an open frame is not realistic; see warping.
Before you buy
Measure the biggest part you actually need. Most large-format buyers are served by 400 mm: the Ender-5 Max at 400 mm cubed or the Sovol SV08 Max at 500 mm cubed print faster and fit a room. The Giga is for the parts those cannot make in one piece. A stand or cabinet is not an option here; it sits on the floor.
The units in the box
The Giga is sold through Elegoo rather than Amazon US. Shown are the large-format machines that are on Amazon: the Kobra 3 Max, the Ender-5 Max and the Sovol SV08 Max.
FAQ
Is it fast? No. 300 mm/s rated, 150 mm/s recommended, and flow through the nozzle is the real limit.
Can four heads print one part faster? No; each head prints its own copy in its own zone.
