A printer bought for a business is doing a different job from the same printer bought for a hobby. Nobody is watching it. A failure at 2am is not a disappointing evening, it is a missed delivery and a wasted spool. That reframes the specification list: the headline speed on the box matters far less than how often the machine stops.
Where to buy
Enclosure and chamber temperature come first
If you will print anything beyond PLA, an enclosure stops being a nice-to-have. ABS, ASA and most filled materials warp without a stable warm environment, and warping is the failure mode that ruins long unattended jobs. A managed chamber is better than a passive box: the Prusa CORE One+ holds a 55 °C chamber on a fully enclosed CoreXY frame, and the Creality K2 Plus quotes chamber temperatures up to 60 °C with a 350 °C hotend. Either removes a whole category of overnight failures.
Repeatability beats peak speed
Marketing speeds are measured on a benchmark, not on your part. What matters commercially is whether the tenth copy matches the first. Bed levelling that runs automatically every print, active belt tensioning and a rigid CoreXY frame all contribute more to a consistent batch than a higher number on the box. The K2 Plus quotes up to 600 mm/s, but its useful feature for a business is the automatic bed tilt calibration that runs without you.
Size the machine to the batch, not the biggest part
Most small businesses do better with a bed that fits several copies at once than with one that fits a single huge part. A 350 × 350 mm bed prints a tray of parts overnight; a 250 mm bed prints half a tray. The Sovol SV08 covers 350 × 350 × 345 mm and QIDI lists the Max4 at 390 × 390 × 340 mm, though we have not independently verified the QIDI figure.
Parts availability is the specification nobody prints on the box
A machine that is down for three weeks waiting for a hotend has no throughput advantage at all. Before buying, check that nozzles, hotends, build plates and belts for that exact model are stocked and shipping. This is the single most common reason a cheap machine costs more over a year than an expensive one, and it is the easiest thing to check before you commit.

Is one expensive printer better than two cheap ones? Two machines give you redundancy, which is usually worth more than peak capability. One down machine out of two is a slow week, not a stopped week.
Do I need a heated chamber? Only if you print ABS, ASA or filled materials. For PLA and PETG an enclosure alone is enough.
How much should a first business machine cost? Enough to be enclosed with a managed chamber and stocked spare parts. Below that the savings are repaid in downtime.
