Diagram comparing build volumes at the same scale: K1 Max at 300 by 300 by 300 mm and K2 Plus at 350 by 350 by 350 mm.
Short answer

The K2 Plus is a class above: 350 × 350 × 350 mm, 350 °C hotend, 120 °C bed, 60 °C actively heated chamber, 30000 mm/s² and native CFS multi-colour up to 16 spools. The K1 Max is a 300 mm passive enclosure at 300 °C and 100 °C. Buy the K2 Plus for nylon, PC and multi-colour at scale; buy the K1 Max for large PLA, PETG and ABS on a budget.

What the heated chamber buys

At 60 °C the K2 Plus is in the same material class as the Bambu H2 series and Qidi Plus 4: nylon, PC, PA-CF and PPA print without layer cracking across a 350 mm bed. The K1 Max is an ABS and ASA machine at best for large parts; its passive chamber warms to perhaps 40 °C. The 350 °C hotend on the K2 Plus is the second half of the same story.

What the K1 Max still does well

  • Large PLA and PETG at speed. The 300 mm bed is enough for most cosplay and enclosures.
  • Lidar first-layer inspection, which the K2 Plus does not have.
  • Price. It is usually a significant step cheaper, and the difference buys a lot of filament.

Traps

  • K1 Max plates do not fit the K2 Plus; see K2 Plus plates.
  • Heated chambers and PLA: the K2 Plus needs its door open or chamber heat off for clean PLA overhangs.
  • CFS spools sit in a dry box, but the K1 Max external spool does not; PETG and nylon need drying either way.

The units in the box

The listings are the K1 Max, the K2 Plus Combo with CFS and the K2 Plus alone.

FAQ

Is the K2 Plus much faster? Higher acceleration helps on small features; on big parts flow limits both.

Does the K1 Max support CFS? The 2025 revision does; older units need checking.
