Short answer

The K2 Plus ships with almost everything a printer can be upgraded with: heated chamber, multi-material, input shaping, a camera. What remains worth buying is a spare hotend kit or a high-flow hotend such as the Micro Swiss FlowTech for big fast parts, silicone socks as consumables, a hardened nozzle before abrasive filament, and a filament dryer because the CFS does not heat.

The K2 Plus is Creality’s flagship, and its upgrade list is short for the right reason. The chamber is heated, so ABS and ASA need nothing added; the CFS handles four spools; the toolhead is tuned. Where owners spend money is on keeping the hotend fresh, moving to higher flow for the large bed, and dealing with moisture, which no printer solves on its own.

What is worth buying

  1. A spare official hotend kit. The K2 Plus runs hot and fast; a spare avoids downtime when a clog will not clear.
  2. Micro Swiss FlowTech hotend for higher flow and tool-free nozzle changes; the 350 mm bed invites 0.6 and 0.8 mm nozzles, and FlowTech makes that swap trivial.
  3. Hardened nozzle before CF, glow or sparkle filament; see abrasives.
  4. Silicone socks in a pack; heated-chamber printing eats them.
  5. A filament dryer feeding the CFS or the external port. The CFS holds desiccant but does not heat; PETG and PA need a dryer.
  6. A spare frosted PEI plate.

What to skip

  • Enclosure or chamber heater mods; it has both.
  • Toolhead cooling mods; tuned already.
  • Custom firmware on a machine that prints well.

The kits in the box

Creality’s official K2 Plus hotend kit is the spare; the K2 Plus silicone sock pack is the consumable; the Micro Swiss FlowTech for the K2 Plus is the high-flow option.

Fitting a hotend

  1. Cool and unload; open the toolhead.
  2. Disconnect heater and thermistor, unscrew the hotend, fit the new one.
  3. Run the printer’s PID and first-layer routines.
  4. Set nozzle size in Creality Print if you changed it.

FAQ

Do K1 hotends fit the K2 Plus? No; different design.

Can the CFS feed CF filament? Yes, with a hardened nozzle and the CFS’s own PTFE path checked for wear.

Is a 0.8 mm nozzle sensible on the K2 Plus? For large drafts and props, very; the flow and bed size suit it.
