Same motion system, same 300 °C hotend and 100 °C bed, same 600 mm/s. The K1 Max gives you 300 × 300 × 300 mm and a lidar first-layer scanner; the K1C gives you the newer clog-resistant extruder and hardened nozzle in a 220 mm box. If your parts fit in 220 mm and you print carbon-fibre blends, K1C. If you need the volume, K1 Max, and budget a hardened nozzle.

Why size is not the whole story
A 300 mm bed heats slower and the 300 mm frame flexes more at full speed, so K1 Max owners typically run 20 to 30 percent slower than K1C owners for the same quality. The lidar partly compensates by catching bad first layers before they waste a long print. Neither machine is enclosed with a heater, so both hit the same ceiling on materials.
Pick the K1C when
- Functional parts under 220 mm, especially in PETG-CF or PA-CF where the stock hardened nozzle saves a first upgrade.
- Desk space is tight; the Max is a large machine.
Pick the K1 Max when
- Helmets, large enclosures, batch plates of small parts.
- Unattended printing where the lidar first-layer check earns its keep.
- You plan to add the CFS and want 300 mm multi-colour; a spare plate is the first accessory either way.

FAQ
Can the K1 Max take the K1C extruder? Creality sells the K1C hotend and extruder parts separately and they fit the K1 family; check the listing for the K1 Max.
Is the K1 Max faster because of lidar? No; lidar checks the first layer and calibrates flow, it does not add speed.
