Creality K2 Plus Build Plate: Frosted PEI, the 350 mm Size, and Which Replacements Fit

The K2 Plus uses a large plate sized for its 350 by 350 mm bed, and Creality ships it with a frosted PEI surface: finer than the usual textured powder coat, grippy for PLA and PETG, and easier on the bottom finish. Replacements must be listed for the K2 Plus; K1 Max plates are too small. Frosted or textured PEI for everyday work, smooth PEI with glue for ABS.
The K2 Plus is Creality’s heated-chamber, multi-material machine, and its plate is one of the largest in the consumer market. Two things follow. Thickness matters more than ever: a thin plate at this size bows on the magnets and the first layer varies across the bed. And the plate sees a lot of ABS and ASA at chamber temperature, which wears any coating faster than PLA does. Creality’s frosted PEI is a good default; when it wears, choose a replacement by thickness and coating.

Frosted versus textured
Frosted PEI is a finer texture than the usual powder coat: it grips PLA and PETG well, leaves a subtle matte bottom rather than a pebbled one, and releases when cool. Textured PEI is coarser and slightly more forgiving of a high Z-offset. Either works on the K2 Plus; frosted is what it ships with and the sensible replacement. Settings by material
- PLA: 55 to 60 °C, chamber open.
- PETG: 75 to 80 °C, chamber open or lightly vented.
- ABS and ASA: 95 to 100 °C with the chamber heated; a brim on large flat parts. Lifting on a heated K2 Plus is a greasy plate; wash it.

Swapping
- Wash with dish soap; handle by the edges.
- Seat against the rear stop.
- Run the K2 Plus’s leveling; it measures the new plate.
- If the first layer fails after a wash, check the plate is fully flat on the magnets.
FAQ
Do K1 Max plates fit the K2 Plus? No.
Do I need glue for ABS on frosted PEI? Not with the chamber heated. Glue on the corners of very large parts is a reasonable insurance.
Why is the bottom of my print smoother than on a K1? Frosted PEI leaves a finer texture than powder-coat textured PEI. That is the surface working as intended.
