Creality K1 Error 2344: Hotend MCU Connection Timeout

Creality K1 error 2344 means communication with the print head controller timed out. The link exists — it simply did not reply in time. On a K1 that signal travels down a loom which flexes on every layer of every print, so a marginal conductor is the first suspect and a failed board is the last.
Timeout rather than absence is the useful distinction, because it admits causes that a broken wire does not explain.

Where to buy
Where that loom fails
Not in the middle. Cables break at the sharpest bend and where they are clamped, which on a K1 means at the exit from the head and at the point the loom turns as the carriage moves. Look for a flattened section, a permanent kink, or a shiny patch where it rubs on a frame edge.
Reseat, then provoke it
Reseat both ends firmly. Then, with the printer on, flex the loom gently along its length and watch whether the fault comes and goes. A fault you can trigger by hand has told you where it lives, and no meter will beat that.
Heat as a second cause
A controller running hot slows down, and a slow controller misses deadlines. If the fault only appears after an hour of printing rather than at startup, look at chamber temperature and base cooling rather than at the cable. The same logic applies to the main board as 2343.
How Creality K1 error 2344 sits among the head-side codes
An absent hardware link is 111. An unreliable one is 2506. A slow one is this. In practice all three usually end at the same cable, and the maintenance sequence that covers them is 2060.
After recent work, suspect recent work
Nozzle changes, hotend swaps and fan replacements all disturb the same bundle. A connector left half-latched produces this within a day or two, and that timing is the strongest clue you will get.
Creality K1 Error 2344 FAQ
Can I print while it appears occasionally?
No. If the board cannot trust what the head reports, it cannot control temperature safely.
Does it mean the hotend board is failing?
Rarely. Cables and connectors explain most of these, and the board is the expensive answer.
Why only after an hour?
That pattern points at temperature. Everything is fine cold and marginal once the enclosure warms the machine.
Is the replacement cable model-specific?
Yes. K1, K1C, K1 SE and K1 Max share a design but not every part number.
If the link fails while the printer is idle rather than under load, Creality points at the mainboard terminal instead of the moving cable. That is Creality K1 error 3002.
