Short answer

The H2D is Bambu Lab’s flagship: two nozzles, a 325 × 320 × 325 mm bed (300 × 320 × 320 when both nozzles print), a 350 °C hotend, 120 °C bed and a 65 °C actively heated chamber. It is the Bambu machine for nylon, PC, PPA and carbon-fibre blends, and for two-material jobs without purge. Buy the H2S if you want the chamber without the second nozzle; buy the P2S if you never leave PLA, PETG and ASA.

What the second nozzle actually changes

A single-nozzle AMS printer purges filament on every material change. Two nozzles mean support material and model material each keep their own hotend, so a PLA part with PETG breakaway supports, or a nylon part with PVA, prints with no purge tower and no cross-contamination. It also means two nozzle sizes in one job: 0.2 mm for the visible skin, 0.6 mm for infill. The trade is a smaller shared build area and a heavier toolhead.

What the heated chamber changes

Passive enclosures such as the P1S and P2S sit around 40 °C. The H2D holds 65 °C under closed-loop control, which is the difference between cracked nylon and a solid part. It also keeps PLA printable with the door shut by venting through the adaptive airflow system. See PA-CF and carbon-fibre printing for what the chamber unlocks.

Who does not need it

  • PLA, PETG and ASA users. The P2S does those at a fraction of the price.
  • Single-material engineering users. The H2S has the same chamber and hotend with one nozzle and a slightly larger single-nozzle volume.
  • Anyone wanting the laser as the main tool. A dedicated laser engraver is cheaper and larger.

FAQ

Do P1S or X1C hotends fit the H2D? No. The H2D shares its hotend with the H2S, X2D and P2S.

Can the H2D print with both nozzles at once? No; it alternates. The gain is no purge, not double speed.

Do 256 mm plates fit? No; the H2D uses its own larger plate.
