What it does that cheaper Bambu machines do not
- Lidar first-layer inspection. The printer scans the first layer, compares it with what it expected and halts on defects. For a farm running overnight this is the feature that pays for the machine.
- Abrasives out of the box. Hardened steel gear and nozzle from the factory. See abrasive filament for why that matters.
- 120 °C bed. Helpful for large ABS and PC parts on a passive chamber.
What moved past it
- The P2S has a 1080p 30 fps camera, a tool-less hotend, 600 mm/s and vision-based pre-print checks for less money.
- The H2S and H2D have 350 °C hotends and 65 °C actively heated chambers, the actual requirement for PC, PA-CF and PPA.
