Buy it for lidar-verified unattended printing; otherwise look at the P2S or H2S.

What it does that cheaper Bambu machines do not

  • Lidar first-layer inspection. The printer scans the first layer, compares it with what it expected and halts on defects. For a farm running overnight this is the feature that pays for the machine.
  • Abrasives out of the box. Hardened steel gear and nozzle from the factory. See abrasive filament for why that matters.
  • 120 °C bed. Helpful for large ABS and PC parts on a passive chamber.

What moved past it

  • The P2S has a 1080p 30 fps camera, a tool-less hotend, 600 mm/s and vision-based pre-print checks for less money.
  • The H2S and H2D have 350 °C hotends and 65 °C actively heated chambers, the actual requirement for PC, PA-CF and PPA.
  • The X2D adds a second nozzle and a tool changer on the same 256 mm footprint.

Who should still buy it
