P2S AMS: The AMS 2 Pro and Its 65 °C Drying

The P2S Combo ships with the AMS 2 Pro, which is the version that actually dries filament: up to 65 degC, with the spools rotating during the cycle and automatic venting, and RFID on Bambu filament to pick the drying profile. It measures 372 x 280 x 226 mm and weighs 2.5 kg. You can chain four AMS 2 Pro units plus eight AMS HT units for twenty-four filaments in total.
The AMS 2 Pro is the first version of Bambu’s changer that solves the problem people actually had with the original: filament sitting in a sealed box slowly getting damp, with no way to fix it without a separate dryer.
On a P2S that matters more than usual, because the printer runs 600 mm/s and 20,000 mm/s2 and a wet spool shows up as surface defects long before it causes a failure.

The drying temperature is the headline, but the tool-free jam access is the change you will appreciate more often. Anyone who has emptied a Gen 1 unit to fish out a snapped strand knows why.
Materials
The AMS 2 Pro handles PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PET, PA, PC, dried PVA, dried BVOH, PP, POM, HIPS, Bambu PLA-CF, PAHT-CF, PETG-CF and support material for PLA and PETG. Notably TPU is on the supported list for the AMS, which the open AMS lite cannot manage at all. Filament diameter is 1.75 mm.
Do note the difference between what the changer can feed and what the printer can print. The P2S tops out at a 300 degC nozzle and a 110 degC plate, so the very high temperature engineering blends are not on its menu regardless of what the AMS will push through. Adding one to a P1 or X1 instead
The AMS 2 Pro is compatible across the Bambu range, but the wiring differs by generation. Connecting a single AMS 2 Pro to a P1 or X1 series printer needs an AMS Hub (part SA002-N), and every AMS 2 Pro needs its own switching adapter for the drying function to work. On a P2S the combo handles all of that for you, which is a real part of the combo’s value.

Is the combo the right buy
Yes, if multi-colour or automatic filament switching is anywhere in your plans, because the bundled price beats buying the parts and the P2S is already the enclosed workhorse of the range at 256 x 256 x 256 mm. If you only ever print single-colour PLA and PETG and you already own a filament dryer, the printer alone is a complete machine and you lose nothing by waiting.
