HMS 0C00-0400-0002-0026 — Live View camera did not initialise
Short answer

HMS 0C00-0400-0002-0026 means the Live View camera did not come up at startup, and the message says what that costs you: some AI functions, spaghetti detection among them, will be disabled. Bambu asks you to restart the printer and to contact support if it persists.

Initialisation failures are worth one honest restart before anything else, because that clears most of them.

The message tells you exactly what you lose, which is unusually honest.

Where to buy

A full power cycle first

Down at the switch, pause, back up. A camera that failed to initialise is usually stuck rather than broken, and a soft restart leaves the subsystem in the state that failed. Watch the startup sequence afterwards to see whether it comes up cleanly.

Then give it stable power

Initialisation is the most power-sensitive moment in a printer’s day. A machine on a shared circuit with something that cycles hard will drop a subsystem now and then, and that produces exactly this code intermittently. A battery backup removes it; a surge-protected outlet helps.

Then the connector

If it persists across restarts, treat it as hardware. A camera that is not responding at all reports as HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0001, and reseating the connector is free. Do that before contacting support, because it is the first thing they will ask.

What HMS 0C00-0400-0002-0026 disables

Spaghetti detection is the one you will miss, because it is what catches a failing print in minutes rather than hours — that code is HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0008. Printing is unaffected; your early warning is not.

While the camera is out of use

Treat long unattended prints as a worse idea than usual, and check the first layers yourself. The nozzle camera has its own code when it fouls — HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0017 — and a clean one is worth having while the main view is down. The platform is described in the Bambu Lab H2D.

HMS 0C00-0400-0002-0026 FAQ

Will a restart fix it?

Usually. Initialisation faults are the kind that a cold boot clears.

Can I print meanwhile?

Yes, with the AI checks off. Watch it yourself.

Is it the same as a dirty lens?

No. A dirty lens initialises fine and returns a poor image.

When should I contact support?

After a cold boot and a reseated connector have both failed to clear it.
