HMS 0C00-0200-0001-0001 — Laser height probe is not lit
Short answer

HMS 0C00-0200-0001-0001 means the laser height probe is not emitting, and Bambu gives you both likely causes: the laser is obstructed, or its connector cable is disconnected. Look in that order, because an obstruction costs nothing to clear and a cable costs nothing to reseat.

Not lit is a usefully blunt diagnosis. Either the light is not getting out, or it is not being produced.

Two causes named in the message, and one of them is free to check.

Where to buy

Check for an obstruction first

Power down and look at the emitter with a light. Filament dust builds a film that dims it to nothing, and a bead of purge sitting over the aperture blocks it completely. A foam swab with isopropyl alcohol clears the film; a pick lifts the bead out without pushing it further in. Where that purge residue comes from is covered in HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0006.

Then the connector

The probe sits on the toolhead, so its cable moves on every print and its connector sees more disturbance than any other. Unseat it, look into it for a bent pin, and push it home until it clicks. Then follow the run for a pinch point or a chafed section.

Confirm in the dark

Run the routine with the enclosure lights off and the room dim. A working laser is plainly visible as a line or a point, and seeing it tells you immediately that the fault is downstream in the sensing rather than in the emitter. Not seeing it narrows the job to power and cable.

How HMS 0C00-0200-0001-0001 differs from the vertical laser code

These machines have more than one laser. The vertical one reports separately as HMS 0C00-0200-0002-0007, so reading the code tells you which emitter to inspect and saves you cleaning the wrong one.

What stops working

Height probing feeds the first-layer measurement, so expect measurement codes alongside this one — the low-nozzle report is HMS 0C00-0200-0002-0004. What this class of sensing does on a printer generally is in bed levelling sensors.

HMS 0C00-0200-0001-0001 FAQ

Is the laser dangerous to look at?

Treat it as you would any class-1 device: do not stare into the aperture, and inspect at an angle.

Can I print with it unlit?

Single prints, with the automatic first-layer check unavailable.

Did a toolhead repair cause it?

Very likely. That connector is disturbed during most toolhead work.

Is the emitter replaceable alone?

Usually as part of an assembly. Meter the circuit before ordering.

The same cable-first logic applies to the overhead camera. HMS 0C00-0400-0001-0005 sends you straight to support, but a cold boot, a reseated connector and a continuity check belong before that call.
