HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0006: Purged Filament Piled Up in the Waste Chute

HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0006 means purged filament may have built up in the waste chute, and asks you to check and clean it. This is maintenance rather than a fault: every filament change produces purge, and the chute is where it goes until you empty it.
Multi-material printing generates far more of this than people expect, which is why the warning exists at all.

Where to buy
Clear the chute properly
With the machine idle, pull the accumulated purge out rather than pushing it through. Long needle-nose pliers reach a blockage that fingers cannot, and flush cutters let you take a welded mass apart in pieces instead of fighting it as one lump. A pick clears what is left in the corners.
Why a blocked chute matters
Purge that cannot leave backs up towards the plate, and purge on the plate becomes debris under the next print. That is the chain that produces the foreign-object report HMS 0C00-0300-0002-0010, which arrives after the damage rather than before it.
How often it needs doing
In proportion to how often you change filament, not to hours printed. A single-material week fills almost nothing; a few multi-colour plates fill it noticeably. Check it whenever you reload, and empty it before a long unattended job.
Material makes a difference
Stringy, high-temperature materials weld into a mass that has to be broken up, while PLA tends to come out as discrete blobs. If you print a lot of the former, expect to clear the chute on a schedule rather than on a warning. Keeping that material dry in the first place is covered in filament dry boxes.
What HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0006 is not
It is not a nozzle problem. A clogged nozzle produces no purge at all rather than too much, and that is a clogged nozzle. Seeing this code means the extrusion side is working, which is mildly reassuring. Plate surfaces are covered in Bambu build plates.
HMS 0C00-0300-0003-0006 FAQ
Can I ignore it for one print?
For a short single-material job, usually. Not before a long multi-colour plate.
Should I use a vacuum?
Pull the solid mass out first. A vacuum only helps with the dust afterwards.
Can purge be recycled?
Not usefully at home: it is mixed material. Treat it as waste.
Does it affect print quality?
Only once it backs up onto the plate, at which point it affects it a great deal.
