HMS 0700-0100-0001-0001: AMS Assist Motor Slipped

HMS 0700-0100-0001-0001 means the AMS assist motor has slipped, and Bambu names two causes: the extrusion wheel may be worn down, or the filament may be too thin. Those need opposite responses — one is a part to replace, the other is a spool to stop using — so measuring the filament is the first thing to do.
Measuring takes a minute and tells you whether to order anything at all.

Where to buy
Measure the filament first
1.75 mm filament should measure between about 1.70 and 1.80 mm, and good filament stays within a far tighter band than that. Take several readings along a metre of it with calipers. Consistently undersized filament will slip in any gripping mechanism, and no new wheel fixes that.
Varying diameter is worse than thin
A spool that measures 1.72 in one place and 1.78 in another is harder on a feed system than one that is uniformly slightly thin, because the grip changes as it feeds. If your readings wander, that spool is the problem regardless of its average.
Then look at the wheel
Extrusion wheels grip with teeth that fill up with ground plastic and dust. Filled teeth slip, and slipping reads as a worn wheel even when the metal is fine. Brush them out before deciding anything is worn, and check for a visibly polished or flattened section.
How HMS 0700-0100-0001-0001 differs from an extruder slip
This is the assist motor inside the AMS, which pushes filament toward the printer. The toolhead extruder slipping is a separate fault — 0700-2000-0002-0009 covers a failure to extrude where the extruder is clogged or the filament too thin. Same symptom word, different motor, different part to replace.
Friction in the path counts as load
A tight bend, a scored guide tube, or a spool that binds on its holder all make the assist motor work harder, and a motor working near its limit slips sooner. Check the path before the parts — see PTFE tube and the AMS hub guide.
HMS 0700-0100-0001-0001 FAQ
Does cheap filament cause this?
Inconsistent filament does, and price correlates with consistency rather than causing it. Measure rather than assume.
Can I keep printing?
A single slip is survivable. Repeated slips grind material into the wheel and make the next load worse.
How do I know the wheel is genuinely worn?
Clean it, then test with filament you have measured as correct. If it still slips, the wheel is the answer.
Is flexible filament more prone to it?
Yes. TPU compresses rather than pushing, which reads as slipping in any geared feed system. Damp filament behaves similarly, which is a storage problem.
