HMS 0700-2000-0002-0009: AMS slot failed to extrude

The AMS fed filament towards the toolhead and the extruder never took it. Check the PTFE run and the cutter before you blame the AMS motor — the failure is nearly always at the handover, not in the unit itself.
Bambu reports a failure to extrude filament from an AMS slot, with a clogged extruder or filament that is too thin causing slip. In practice this fires when the AMS has done its part and the toolhead has not confirmed the filament arrived.

Check in the direction the filament travels
AMS retries a slot, then aborts the load
Filament stops somewhere between the AMS slot and the extruder gears
- Open the slot and check the filament end. A cut that has gone flat and wide catches on every joint it meets.
- Trim the end at 45 degrees with flush cutters and reload. This alone clears a large share of these errors.
- Inspect the PTFE tube from AMS to toolhead for kinks. A tube that has been pinched by the drag chain narrows just enough to stop a blunt end.
- Look inside the toolhead for a fragment left by the cutter from a previous change.
- Run a manual load from the slot and watch where it stops. Where it stops is the fault.
The cutter is worth a look
Multi-material machines cut the filament at every change. A cutter that has dulled leaves a ragged end instead of a clean one, and ragged ends snag at the entry to the extruder. If the error started appearing after a few hundred filament changes rather than suddenly, the cutter is the first suspect.
Slot-specific or all slots?
Run a load from each slot in turn and note which fail. One failing slot points at that slot’s feed motor, gear or hub sensor. All four failing points downstream — the shared PTFE run, the toolhead, or the extruder itself.
Keep fingers clear of the cutter mechanism during a manual load. It fires under firmware control and does not wait for you.
