HMS 0300-9000-0001-0001 — Chamber heater not blowing hot air
Short answer

HMS 0300-9000-0001-0001 means chamber heating failed because the heater appears not to be blowing hot air. A chamber heater is two things working together: an element that gets hot and a fan that moves that heat into the chamber. Either can fail on its own, and the wording here points at the moving-air half.

That distinction is the whole value of this code, because the two halves are checked in completely different ways.

Two halves of one heater — They fail independently
Two halves of one heater — They fail independently

Where to buy

Listen before you open anything

Start a chamber heat cycle and listen at the heater outlet. A fan running means the element is the suspect. Silence means the fan is, and the element may be perfectly healthy. Thirty seconds of listening saves an hour of dismantling.

If the fan is silent

Power down at the wall, look into the outlet, and turn the impeller by hand. Dust and stray filament collect there as readily as in any other fan, and a blocked duct can stall a free-running impeller by back-pressure alone. Sizes and replacements are in 3D printer cooling fans.

If the fan runs and nothing is warm

Then the element or its wiring is the problem, and that is a separate family of codes about heater temperature rather than heating performance. Those name short circuits, open circuits and thermal fuses specifically.

How HMS 0300-9000-0001-0001 differs from the enclosure version

The same group contains 0300-9000-0001-0002, where heating fails because the chamber is not properly enclosed, the ambient temperature is too low, or a vent is open. That one is about the room and the lid; this one is about the hardware. Check which you have before you start closing panels.

Why chamber heating matters at all

A warm chamber is what makes ABS, ASA and polycarbonate printable without warping. Losing it does not stop PLA work, so the fault can sit unnoticed until the first high-temperature job fails. Ventilation and extraction, which pull in the opposite direction, are covered in exhaust fans.

HMS 0300-9000-0001-0001 FAQ

Can I print PLA with the chamber heater dead?

Yes, and you will barely notice. PLA prefers a cool chamber anyway.

Is the vent position relevant?

For the enclosure-related code, very much. For this one it matters less, though an open vent makes any heating look weak.

Could a cold room cause this?

A cold room produces the enclosure-related message rather than this one. That is precisely why the two codes exist separately.

Does the chamber have its own thermometer?

It has sensors the printer reads, and those have their own fault codes. A reading that looks implausible is a sensor problem, not a heating one — the measurement approach is in 3D printer thermistors.
