HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0007 — Lidar laser parameter drifted
Short answer

HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0007 means the micro lidar laser parameter has drifted: the laser is still working but no longer matches the values the printer expects from it. Drift happens with age and with heat, which is why this code arrives after months rather than on day one.

The useful question is whether the drift is real or whether the window in front of the laser is simply filthy.

Drifted, not failed. That word tells you it happened slowly.
Drifted, not failed. That word tells you it happened slowly.

Where to buy

Clean the window first, properly

A hazed window makes a healthy laser look weak, and that is indistinguishable from drift as far as the message is concerned. Foam swabs are the right tool because the aperture is a recess: a cloth bridges the recess and cleans the housing instead of the glass.

Then finish with lens tissue

If a mark survives the swab, individually wrapped lens tissue takes it off with a fresh surface each time. The point is that nothing reused touches the optic, because reused material is how a smear becomes a scratch.

Then look at where the printer lives

Laser diodes drift faster hot, and an enclosed printer in a warm room runs hotter than its owner thinks. A cheap digital thermometer and hygrometer on the shelf beside the machine turns a feeling about the room into a number, and it answers the filament storage question at the same time.

Recalibrate once, then judge

A single calibration after cleaning tells you whether the drift was dirt. If the code returns within a few plates, the drift is in the diode and cleaning will not get it back. The chart-side complaint is HMS 0C00-0100-0001-000B.

What HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0007 means for your prints

Flow calibration becomes optimistic rather than wrong, which is harder to notice than an outright failure. If your first layers have quietly got worse over a season, this code is a better explanation than anything you changed in the slicer.

When it is terminal

A diode that has drifted beyond correction is a module replacement, and the unreadable-data version of a dead module is HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0005. Background on the sensing hardware is in 3D printer cameras.

HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0007 FAQ

Is drift the same as failure?

No. The laser works; its output no longer matches the stored expectation.

Will cleaning fix it?

Often, because dirt imitates drift. Clean before concluding anything.

Does heat matter?

Yes. Diodes drift faster hot, and enclosures run warm.

How often should I clean the window?

Whenever you clean the nozzle camera. They collect the same haze.
