HMS 0700-7400-0001-0001 — Filament Track Switch is offline
Short answer

HMS 0700-7400-0001-0001 means the Filament Track Switch is offline and asks you to check for disconnected cables or loose connectors. The printer is not accusing the module of being broken: it is saying nothing answers on that link.

The Track Switch sits between two AMS units and the toolhead, which means its cable runs further than most and gets handled more often.

Offline means nothing is answering. The message names the usual reason.

Where to buy

Quieten a long signal run

Clip-on ferrite cores cost very little and take the high-frequency noise off a data cable that runs past a stepper or a heater. On an intermittent link that is one of the few cheap things that genuinely helps.

Hold the connector where you can see it

A helping-hands stand with a magnifier keeps a small plug steady while you inspect the contacts. One hand on the module and one on the plug leaves no hand for the light.

Work on the board, not on your knee

A rotating PCB holder grips the module while you reseat a connector from the back. Flexing a board to reach a plug is how a connection fault becomes a cracked solder joint.

Then reseat in the right order

Power everything down, unplug and reseat both ends of the cable, power up and check whether the Track Switch appears. Offline that clears on a reseat was the connector; offline that returns is the cable.

How HMS 0700-7400-0001-0001 differs from a sensor fault

A sensor inside the module reporting badly is HMS 0700-8900-0002-0004. Offline means the module as a whole is not talking.

When it is present but not set up

An AMS that is not bound to the switch gives HMS 0700-8600-0001-0004. How the system fits together is in printers with an AMS and the AMS hub guide.

HMS 0700-7400-0001-0001 FAQ

Can I print without it?

On a single AMS, usually. Dual-AMS switching stops.

Which cable does it mean?

The one from the Track Switch to the printer. Check both ends.

Does a reseat always fix it?

If it does and then recurs, suspect the cable itself.

Is the module a user part?

Treat it as an assembly. Start with the connection.

Connectors are the usual story everywhere on this machine. HMS 0500-0400-0002-0033 simply asks you to plug in the module connector, because the module is in place and its electrical connection has not been made.
