HMS 0700-7400-0002-0007: Track Switch Plugged In Mid-Print

HMS 0700-7400-0002-0007 means the Filament Track Switch was connected during printing, and asks you to unplug it and reconnect after the print is finished. Nothing is damaged: the system enumerates the filament path when a job starts and cannot re-plan it halfway through.
So the fix is literally the instruction. The useful part is making the unplugged module easy to handle safely.

Where to buy
Give the module somewhere safe to sit
Anti-static shielding bags are what an unplugged electronic assembly should go into, not a pocket or a bench corner. They cost pennies and they are the difference between a module that still works next week and one that does not.
Work on a surface that is grounded
An ESD mat gives the bench a defined potential so handling a board does not put a charge through it. On a workshop floor with a dry carpet nearby, that is not theoretical.
Handle it without leaving fingerprints on contacts
Anti-static gloves keep skin oils off gold contacts and keep you grounded at the same time. Contacts that have been handled bare corrode faster, which is a slow version of this same fault.
Then wait and reconnect
Let the print finish, unplug, reconnect and let the AMS re-enumerate. The message will not return unless you plug it in mid-job again.
How HMS 0700-7400-0002-0007 differs from a dead link
A module that will not answer at all is HMS 0700-7400-0001-0001. This code is about timing rather than connectivity.
What it wants you to do afterwards
Reconnecting often leads straight into HMS 0700-8600-0001-0004, which asks you to bind the AMS to the switch again. The system is described in printers with an AMS and AMS 2 Pro versus AMS.
HMS 0700-7400-0002-0007 FAQ
Have I damaged anything?
Almost certainly not. The firmware refused, which is the point.
Can I ignore it and keep printing?
The print continues. The switch will not be used.
Why does it need a restart of the path?
Because filament routing is planned when the job starts.
Same rule during AMS initialisation?
Yes, and that has its own code in the same family.
Some messages are prompts rather than faults. HMS 0500-0400-0002-0032 asks you to slide in the laser module and lock the quick-release lever, and half-locked is the state that catches people out.
