HMS 0700-7000-0002-0007: AMS filament ran out

An AMS slot ran out of filament. Load a new spool into the same slot, feed it until the AMS grabs it, then hit resume. Using a different slot mid-print is what causes people to lose the job.
Bambu reports that AMS filament has run out and asks you to put new filament into the AMS and click retry. This is a normal operational event rather than a fault, but there are a couple of ways to turn it into a failed print.

Use the same slot
The print job maps each colour or material to a specific slot. Loading the replacement into a free slot instead of the empty one means the job still points at an empty slot. Refill the slot that ran out.
Print pauses and the AMS reports an empty slot
Spool exhausted
- Cut the new filament end at 45 degrees with flush cutters. A blunt or flattened end is the main reason a reload fails.
- Remove the empty spool and check no short tail is still stuck in the feed path.
- Load the new spool into the same slot number.
- Push the filament in until the AMS motor catches and pulls it.
- Wait for the AMS to confirm the slot, then resume the print from the machine.
Matching the replacement
If you are joining mid-print, the new spool should be the same material and ideally the same batch. A different batch of nominally identical filament often differs slightly in colour and in how it flows, and the join line will be visible on the finished part. For a functional part that does not matter; for anything visible, it does.
Avoiding it on long prints
Weigh the spool before starting a long job. Subtract the empty spool weight — usually printed on the label or around 200 g for a standard plastic reel — and compare what remains against the slicer’s estimate of filament required. This takes thirty seconds and saves overnight prints.
