HMS 0300-1C00-0001-0001 points at the extrusion motor driver circuit on the board, naming a MOSFET short, and there is no consumer-level replacement part.
Short answer

The driver circuit that powers the extrusion motor is reporting a fault, and the firmware names a possible MOSFET short. This is a board-level problem. No consumer replacement part exists, so the value of this page is proving it before you pay for a repair.

Difficulty advanced Time 30-60 min Parts board service Tools Multimeter, hex keys

Affected machines: A2L, H2, P2S, X1 series. A MOSFET is the switching transistor that feeds current to one phase of the motor. When one shorts, the driver loses control of that phase and the controller stops rather than letting it run.

The swap test: if the fault stays on the channel it is the driver on the board, if it follows the motor it is the motor, and clearing on a power cycle suggests a transient.
Swapping motors between channels is the one test that separates a board fault from a motor fault. If the fault stays on the same channel, no motor purchase will help.

Proving it is the board, not the motor

This matters because the symptom looks identical to a motor fault from the outside, and motors are cheap while boards are not. The test is to move the fault: if the same channel misbehaves with a known-good motor attached, the channel is at fault.

Do the full power cycle first. A driver can latch into a protective state after a transient, and a cold boot with the capacitors drained clears that. A menu restart does not.

Symptom

Machine halts with the driver fault, often immediately at a move command rather than mid-print

Most likely cause

Shorted MOSFET in the driver stage, or a latched protection state

The fix
  1. Power off at the wall, wait thirty seconds so the boards fully reset, and power back on. A latched protection state clears here.
  2. If it returns, power off and unplug the extrusion motor, then check its coils with a meter to rule the motor in or out.
  3. If the motor reads healthy, swap it onto another identical channel and see whether the fault follows it.
  4. A fault that stays on the original channel with a good motor attached is a driver fault on the board.
  5. Record the code and what you tested before contacting service; it shortens the exchange considerably.

What not to do: repeatedly power cycling to get one more print out of it. A shorted switching device can fail further, and the next failure can take the motor with it.

Our page on stepper motors covers the coil measurements referenced above and how to tell a dead motor from a dead driver in general. The troubleshooting index covers which family a symptom belongs to.

FAQ

Can I replace just the MOSFET? Only with surface-mount rework skills and a schematic. For almost everyone this is a board replacement.

Will a new motor fix it? Not if the fault stays on the channel. Test before buying.

Is it safe to keep trying? No. A shorted switching device can fail further and damage what is connected to it.

Why does it clear sometimes? Protective latching. Clearing is not the same as being fixed.
