The heatbed temperature sensor reads as an open circuit — electrically, the printer sees nothing there. Check the connector at the bed and where the bed cable flexes before assuming the sensor died.
Bambu reports the heatbed temperature as abnormal with the sensor possibly having an open circuit. An open circuit means infinite resistance: either a broken wire, an unseated connector, or a failed thermistor.
Affected machines: A2L, H2, P2S, X1 series, X2D.

Check the moving parts of the wiring first
A heated bed on a bed-slinger moves thousands of times per print, and the cable that follows it is the part that fails. On the X1 and P-series the bed cable runs into the base and flexes at a fixed point. That flex point is where copper work-hardens and snaps inside intact-looking insulation.
Bed temperature reads as an error or an implausible value at power-on

- Power off at the wall. The bed circuit carries mains-derived voltage on many machines.
- Unplug and reseat the bed harness connector at both ends. Look for green corrosion or a pushed-back pin.
- Flex the bed cable gently along its length while watching the reading, if the machine will show it. An intermittent reading means a broken conductor.
- Measure the thermistor resistance at room temperature with a multimeter. A common 100k NTC reads near 100k ohm at 25 degC. Open circuit confirms the sensor or its wiring.
The heatbed on these machines is driven from mains-derived voltage through an AC board. Unplug the printer at the wall before touching bed wiring, and if you find scorching at a connector, stop and contact support rather than replacing the connector and carrying on.
Why it usually is not the sensor
Thermistors are glass beads with two legs. They fail, but far less often than the crimped connector they plug into or the cable that flexes on every layer. Work outwards from the connector and you will usually find the fault before you reach the sensor.
