Flashforge Adventurer 5M vs Bambu A1: CoreXY Bargain or Automated Bedslinger
LayerWalker is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. We may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site, at no extra cost to you.
The A1 is bigger (256 vs 220 mm), hotter (300 vs 280 °C), more automated and has the AMS lite for multi-colour. The AD5M is a CoreXY with a fixed bed, twice the acceleration and usually the lower price. For PLA and PETG single-colour parts, the AD5M gives more machine per dollar; for multi-colour, bigger parts or zero-tuning, the A1.

Where the AD5M wins
- Motion. A fixed bed and 20000 mm/s² mean tall parts print cleaner and faster; see ringing for why bedslingers struggle.
- Price for a CoreXY.
- Nozzle sizes. Four quick-detach sizes make a 0.6 mm draft nozzle a one-minute change.
Where the A1 wins
- Size and temperature. 256 mm and 300 °C cover more parts and filaments.
- Automation. Flow and resonance calibration each print; the AD5M needs manual flow tuning for best results.
- Multi-colour and ecosystem. AMS lite, Bambu Studio, MakerWorld profiles; see the A1 Combo page.
Decision
Single-colour functional printing in PLA and PETG under 220 mm: AD5M. Anything multi-colour, anything over 220 mm, or a first printer for someone who will not tune: A1. Neither is enclosed, so ABS pushes both buyers to the 5M Pro or the P1S.
