The K1C is the K1 with the problems fixed: a clog-resistant extruder, a hardened tri-metal nozzle, an AI camera included and a quiet mode. Frame, 220 × 220 × 250 mm volume, 300 °C hotend, 100 °C bed and 600 mm/s are identical. Buy the K1 only at a steep discount and only for PLA and PETG; the parts to bring it up to K1C spec cost more than the usual price gap.

What the K1 problems actually were
Owners reported heat creep clogs after long prints, a brass nozzle that wore out fast on anything filled, and bed sensing that missed when the nozzle tip was dirty. The K1C addressed the first two with a new extruder and a hardened nozzle. The bed-sensing habit, wiping the nozzle before a print, applies to both. When a K1 still makes sense
- Heavily discounted, used or refurbished, and you print PLA and PETG only.
- You already own a K1C hotend and extruder to fit.
When it does not
- Any abrasive filament plan. The K1C nozzle alone changes that calculus.
- Remote monitoring. The K1 camera is an extra purchase and older units need a firmware path to support it.
- Multi-colour later. Only the 2025 K1C revision is CFS-ready.
