Bambu Lab P1S Combo: What the AMS Adds and What the P2S Changed

The P1S Combo is the P1S plus one first-generation AMS: four spools in a sealed box with desiccant, RFID for Bambu filament, and up to four units for 16 spools. It is the usual way to buy a P1S because the AMS doubles as dry storage even for single-colour users. The AMS does not heat; PETG and nylon still need drying. At a small price gap, the P2S Combo with the AMS 2 Pro is the better buy.

When the Combo is worth it
- Any multi-colour or multi-material printing.
- Humid rooms: four spools stay in desiccant between prints.
- Long prints where a backup spool on runout saves a job.
When it is not
- Single material, dry room, spools already in a dry box.
- TPU-heavy use; TPU does not feed through the AMS.

Purge waste

Can I add the AMS later? Yes; the first-gen AMS and AMS 2 Pro are sold separately.
