Two families. The AMS lite is open, unheated, four spools, and fits the A-series only (A1 mini, A1, A2L). The enclosed AMS, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT fit the P, X and H series; the A2L is the one A-series machine that also takes the AMS 2 Pro. Nothing crosses otherwise: no AMS lite on a P1S, no AMS on an A1. The AMS 2 Pro adds 65 °C drying; the AMS HT holds one spool for high-temperature or TPU filament.

Traps
- Buying an AMS lite for a P1S, or an AMS for an A1. The listings look similar; the mounting and electronics differ.
- Expecting the first-gen AMS to dry filament. It stores dry; it does not heat. PETG and nylon still need a dryer or the AMS 2 Pro.
- TPU through any four-slot unit. Soft filament goes through the external spool holder or the AMS HT.
- Stacking: up to four enclosed units on one P or X printer via the hub; AMS lite units do not chain.
Which to buy
A-series owners have one choice, the AMS lite; see the A1 Combo page.
