HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0002 — Power loss while docking, second code
Short answer

HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0002 reports power loss while docking a hotend, with the same recovery as its siblings: reinstall the hotend from the named position onto the toolhead, then move the toolhead to the centre of the heatbed. Three separate codes carry this message, and the recovery does not change between them.

Knowing that is the point of looking this number up, so it goes first.

Three codes carry this message. What that tells you, and what it does not.
Three codes carry this message. What that tells you, and what it does not.

Where to buy

The recovery, in full

Take the hotend from the position the message names and seat it flush on the toolhead. Then push the carriage to the middle of the plate by hand, so that homing on the next power-up does not drive it into the rack. The reasoning behind each step is set out in HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0001.

Why three codes for one message

Docking is not a single action. The machine releases, moves, aligns and confirms, and a power loss during any of those leaves a different internal state behind even though your recovery is the same. Bambu numbers them separately so that a log tells its engineers which stage was running. The hardware involved is covered in 3D printing hotends.

What to record

Note the exact number and what the machine was doing when it happened. If one of the three keeps appearing while the others never do, that is a pattern worth reporting, and it is the only situation where the distinction between them has any practical value.

What HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0002 does not mean

It does not mean a worse interruption than the other two, and it does not imply damage. It means the same thing at a different moment. The third of the set is HMS 1A00-2100-0002-0002, which carries the docking wording under a different prefix again.

Preventing the whole family

All of these come from losing mains power mid-swap, so the fix is upstream of the printer. A battery backup sized for a brief outage removes the entire group, and the broader case is in HMS 1A00-2000-0002-0001.

HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0002 FAQ

Is this different from the other docking codes?

Only in which internal stage reported it. Your recovery is identical.

Can I skip moving the toolhead?

No. That step is what stops a collision at the next homing.

Does it damage the rack?

The outage usually does not. Printing without recovering is what does.

Will a UPS really help?

For a brief cut, yes, and that is the main argument for one on a tool changer.
