HMS 1A00-2100-0002-0002 — Docking wording, fetching prefix
Short answer

HMS 1A00-2100-0002-0002 reports power loss while docking a hotend, and asks you to reinstall the hotend from the named position onto the toolhead, then move the toolhead to the centre of the heat bed. Note that it carries docking wording under the same prefix as the fetching code, so follow the instruction text rather than inferring from the number.

That is the one genuinely useful thing to know about this code, so it goes first.

Docking wording under a fetching prefix. Follow the words, not the number.

Where to buy

Why the prefix can mislead

The 2100-0002 prefix also carries HMS 1A00-2100-0002-0001, which is the fetching case and asks you to put the hotend back into the rack. This code sits under the same prefix but gives the docking instruction: hotend onto the toolhead. If you work from the prefix you will do the opposite of what it asked.

The recovery

Take the hotend from the position named in the message and seat it flush on the toolhead. Then push the carriage to the middle of the plate by hand so that homing does not drive it into the rack. The reasoning for each step is in HMS 1A00-2100-0001-0001.

Read the message, not the family

Three codes carry docking wording and one carries fetching wording, and they do not sort neatly by prefix. The text tells you where the hotend goes; the number only tells Bambu which routine was running. Where the hotend ends up is the whole of the recovery, so the text wins.

Check the faces while it is out

A hotend interrupted mid-move may have residue or a burr on its mounting faces. Clean them before reseating, because the machine will try the same move again as soon as it is powered up. The hardware detail is in 3D printing hotends.

What removes this whole group

Every one of these codes begins with mains power disappearing mid-swap. A battery backup sized for a short outage eliminates the family rather than treating its members, and the general case is HMS 1A00-2000-0002-0001.

HMS 1A00-2100-0002-0002 FAQ

Toolhead or rack?

Toolhead. This one carries the docking instruction despite its prefix.

Is it a firmware bug?

Not necessarily. Prefixes group internal routines rather than user-facing actions.

Can I skip centring the toolhead?

No. That step prevents a collision at the next homing.

Which code should I quote to support?

The number on your screen, plus what the machine was doing. Both matter here.
