HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0009: Rack Motion Timed Out, the Second Code

HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0009 means a rack movement did not finish in time, and Bambu asks you to check for foreign objects or obstructions. The message is word for word identical to another code in this group, so if you searched this exact number looking for a difference, there is not one.
Saying that plainly is more useful than inventing a distinction the machine does not make.

Where to buy
What to do, which is the same thing
Power down, clear the full range of rack travel, lift debris out rather than sweeping it, and retry. If the path is clear, treat the fault as drag rather than blockage: clean the guide surfaces, then look at belt tension. The complete walkthrough is in HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0007.
Why two identical codes exist at all
Firmware raises a timeout from whichever routine was waiting, and this platform has more than one routine that moves the rack. The two numbers tell Bambu which stage gave up. They tell you nothing you can act on differently, which is why the recovery is shared.
When the number does matter
If you open a support ticket, quote the one you actually saw rather than the one you found online. A pattern of one number rather than the other is the kind of detail that narrows a firmware issue, and it is the only context where the distinction has value.
What HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0009 rules out
A timeout is not a detection failure and not a calibration failure. The mechanism was commanded and did not arrive, which puts debris, drag and tension ahead of sensors and cameras in the queue. If the lock rod is the thing jammed, you get HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0008 instead, which names it.
The homing version
Blocked during homing rather than during a swap is HMS 1A00-E000-0001-0005. Three codes, one underlying problem, and clearing the path fixes all of them. The machine itself is reviewed in the Bambu Lab H2D review.
HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0009 FAQ
Did I misread the code?
Probably not. Two codes genuinely carry this wording.
Is one more serious?
No. Same condition, same recovery.
Can I ignore it once?
Once, if it clears. Repeatedly means debris accumulating or tension drifting.
Which do I quote to support?
The one on your screen, exactly as shown.
