HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0004 means the machine judged the toolhead camera lens to be dirty and asks you to clean it. That is almost always exactly the problem: the camera rides beside the nozzle, so it collects filament dust and the fine mist thrown off during purging.
The important part is how you clean it. A lens is not a bench surface, and the wrong cloth makes this permanent.

Where to buy
Dry cloths are what scratch lenses
Dust on glass is abrasive. Wiping it dry drags the grit across the coating and leaves fine scratches that scatter light for good. Blow the loose dust off first with a bulb blower or a short burst of canned air, and only then touch the surface.
Then a lens pen or lens tissue
A retractable lens pen is made for exactly this and needs no fluid. Lens tissue with a drop of isopropyl alcohol works too, used once and discarded. What does not work is kitchen paper, a shirt, or a microfiber cloth that has been used on anything else.
Why it gets dirty so quickly here
The toolhead is the dirtiest place on the machine. Everything airborne in the chamber passes it, and the purge at every filament change throws fine material directly into that space. A monthly look at the lens is maintenance rather than repair, and it prevents the inspection faults that follow a fogged lens.
What HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0004 affects
This camera feeds the first-layer and defect checks, so a dirty lens degrades them before it disables them. You will often see this code alongside inspection failures such as HMS 0C00-0300-0002-0002, where the scan data could not be read at all.
When cleaning does not clear it
A lens that is clean and still reported dirty points at the camera rather than the glass, and that has its own code: HMS 0C00-0100-0002-0002. What these cameras do on a printer in general is covered in 3D printer cameras.
HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0004 FAQ
Can I print with it showing?
Yes, with the automatic checks degraded. Watch the first layer yourself until it is clean.
Is isopropyl alcohol safe on the lens?
In small amounts on lens tissue, yes. Do not flood it, and never use acetone.
What about the chamber camera?
It has its own code — see HMS 0C00-0100-0001-0009.
How often should I clean it?
Monthly for ordinary use, and after any job that purged heavily.
