HMS 0700-7000-0002-0002: Failed to Feed the Filament Into the Toolhead

HMS 0700-7000-0002-0002 means the AMS pushed filament towards the toolhead and the toolhead never took it, and Bambu asks you to check whether the filament or the spool is stuck. The failure is at the handoff rather than inside the AMS, which narrows where to look to a short length of path.
Work from the far end backwards. The toolhead is the thing that did not accept the filament, so start there.

Where to buy
Start at the toolhead entry
Filament arrives at a narrow opening and has to find the gears. A fragment left from the last unload, a tip that was cut at an angle, or a slight burr will catch at that opening every time. Unload fully, look into the entry with a light, and clear anything you can see.
Then the melt zone
If the entry is clear, the filament may be arriving and finding nowhere to go. A partial blockage in the hotend stops new filament advancing while the machine reads it as a feed failure. Heat up and extrude by hand: nothing coming out means the problem is downstream, and the route from there is a clogged nozzle.
Then the spool, which Bambu names second for a reason
A spool binding against its own coil cannot deliver filament however hard the AMS pushes, and that reads identically at the toolhead. Unwind a turn by hand and feel for the catch. Filament that has slipped under an adjacent wrap is the classic version of this.
How HMS 0700-7000-0002-0002 differs from its neighbour
This code is about the toolhead end of the journey. When the filament never makes it out of the unit in the first place you get HMS 0700-7000-0002-0005 instead, which asks you to clip the end flat. Reading which one you have decides whether you open the toolhead or the AMS.
The tube between them
A kinked or collapsed length of PTFE between hub and toolhead turns a straightforward push into a fight, and the symptom shows up at the destination. Replace rather than straighten a tube that has taken a sharp set — see PTFE tube for 3D printers and the related load fault HMS 0700-7000-0002-0001.
HMS 0700-7000-0002-0002 FAQ
Should I retry the load?
Once, after clearing the entry. Repeated retries push a damaged tip further into the path and make the recovery worse.
Does the slot matter?
Less than usual. The last stretch of path is shared, so a fault here affects whichever slot was loading.
Why does it only happen with one spool?
Because that spool is binding, or its tip is deformed. Both are spool problems rather than printer problems.
Can damp filament cause it?
Yes. Brittle filament snaps at bends and the fragment blocks the path — storage is covered in filament dry boxes.
