HMS 0700-2000-0002-0019 means the AMS A Slot 1 assist motor stalled because of excessive resistance in the tube between the AMS and the filament buffer. This is the middle segment, and it is the one most often left to find its own way behind the machine.
The buffer has to receive filament smoothly. A tube that fights it on the way in defeats the point of having one.

Where to buy
Fit a larger bore on this section
Where the run is long or has to curve, PTFE with a 3 mm bore instead of 2 mm cuts the wall contact considerably while still guiding the filament. It is the cheapest single change you can make to a stubborn segment.
Keep the tube in one smooth sweep
Spiral wrap holds the tube in a gentle spiral rather than letting it fold against the chassis. It also stops it chafing on an edge, which is how a smooth bore becomes a rough one.
Give the run a channel of its own
An adhesive raceway along the bench edge takes the tube away from the cables and the clutter it otherwise ends up pressed against. Tidy routing is not cosmetic here; it is the fix.
Then look at the buffer entry
Check the tube enters the buffer straight and fully seated. An entry at an angle loads one side of the bore and produces exactly this stall. The buffer’s role is explained in the AMS hub guide.
How HMS 0700-2000-0002-0019 differs from the next segment
From the buffer onwards is HMS 0700-2000-0002-0021, and the long external run is HMS 0700-2000-0002-0017. Three codes, three stretches of tube, and the message does the narrowing for you.
Why a buffer exists at all
It stores slack so retraction does not have to turn the spool, and friction before it undoes that. Path behaviour generally is covered in direct drive versus Bowden.
HMS 0700-2000-0002-0019 FAQ
Is a wider bore always better?
Not at the hotend end, where guidance matters. On this run it helps.
How long should this section be?
As short as the layout allows, with no tight corner.
Can the buffer itself cause this?
A jammed buffer reports its own code. This one names the tube.
Does the tube rub anywhere?
Follow it with a finger. A worn patch tells you where.
Heat ages wiring as well as parts. HMS 0500-0300-0001-000D means the induction hotend rack is malfunctioning, and the insulation around it has been through thousands of heat cycles.
