Flashforge Adventurer 5M Enclosure Kit: Turning the Open 5M Into Most of a 5M Pro

Flashforge’s Adventurer 5M enclosure kit adds the side panels, top and front door that the 5M Pro ships with, so the open 5M can print ABS and ASA in a chamber that holds about 40 °C. It does not add the 5M Pro’s filter or auxiliary fan; buy the accessory set for those. Fitting takes half an hour.
The 5M and 5M Pro are the same printer with and without walls, and Flashforge made the walls a kit. That is the tidiest way to enclose a 5M: exact fit, matching look, no measuring, and the camera and filament path already work with it. The Pro also has an air filter and an extra part-cooling fan, which the enclosure kit does not include; Flashforge sells those separately as an accessory set.

Using it
- PLA and PETG: door or vent open. A sealed chamber above 35 °C causes heat-creep clogs on a PTFE-lined hotend.
- ABS and ASA: close it, preheat with the bed at 100 °C for 15 minutes, keep part cooling low. Lifting means a cold chamber; cracks mean too much fan.
- Vent to a window or a carbon filter for ABS and ASA.
- Smoke detector above the enclosure, always.
FAQ
Is an enclosed 5M identical to a 5M Pro? With the kit and the accessory set, functionally yes.
Can I print PLA with the door shut? Open the door or lift the top for PLA; the 5M’s hotend heat-creeps in a warm chamber.
Does the kit fit the AD5X? The AD5X has its own panel situation; check Flashforge’s listing.
