Key figures for Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer: The Single and Four-Spool Units, and Which Materials They Reach: 45 °C PLA, 65 °C PETG, 80 °C nylon.
Short answer

Creality’s Space Pi dryers are the budget units that reach the higher temperatures PETG, ABS and nylon need, and the four-spool Space Pi X4 with its 200 W heater is built to feed a CFS or AMS with dry filament. Buy the single-spool Space Pi for one printer and PETG; buy the X4 for a multi-material setup or for drying a week’s spools at once.

Creality’s dryers arrived after SUNLU’s and answered the main complaint about budget dryers: a temperature ceiling too low for anything but PLA. The Space Pi line runs hotter, has a fan, and the X4 version holds four spools with PTFE outlets that route into a multi-material unit. They are still budget hardware; the seals and hygrometers are basic. For the price they dry the materials that matter.

The units

  • Space Pi single-spool. One spool, fan, timer, print-through holes, a ceiling high enough for PETG, ABS and ASA and most of the way to nylon.
  • Space Pi X4. Four spools, 200 W PTC heater, four PTFE outlets. For a CFS, an AMS, or a farm. Slower to reach temperature with four cold spools inside; leave it a while.

What to check

  • Maximum temperature against your materials: PLA 50 °C, PETG 65 °C, ABS 70 °C, nylon 80 °C and up. See the drying guide.
  • Spool fit. Standard 1 kg spools; wide cardboard spools and 2 kg spools may not.
  • Outlet fittings that accept your printer’s PTFE tube.
  • Hygrometer reading, to know when a spool is done.

The dryers in the box

Creality’s Space Pi X4 is the four-spool unit; SUNLU’s S1 Plus is the fan-equipped single-spool alternative at a lower ceiling; the Comgrow dryer is the entry-level single-spool box. For one printer and PETG, S1 Plus or the single Space Pi; for a CFS or AMS, the X4.

Using it

  1. Dry a new spool 6 hours for PETG, 8 to 12 for nylon, before printing.
  2. Print from the dryer at a holding temperature 5 to 10 °C below drying temperature.
  3. Swap desiccant when the indicator changes.
  4. If a spool still strings after a full cycle, dry longer; four spools in the X4 take longer than one.

FAQ

Does the X4 dry nylon? It reaches the temperature; give it the full 12 hours.

Can I use Space Pi with a Bambu AMS? Yes; route the PTFE outlets to the AMS inlets.

Is it loud? The fan is audible; similar to a small PC fan.
