Creality K1 and K1C Build Plate: The 235 mm Plate They Share, and Which Replacements Fit

The Creality K1 and K1C use the same plate: 235 by 235 mm spring steel with a textured PEI coating, covering a 220 mm build area. The K1 Max plate is larger and does not fit. Buy a textured PEI replacement for most materials, or a double-sided plate if you want a smooth side for glossy PLA and for ABS with glue.
The K1 series is enclosed and fast, which means its plates see PETG, ABS and ASA at high bed temperatures far more than a bed-slinger’s does. That wears the textured coating in the centre of the plate within a few hundred prints, and a fresh plate is the usual fix when adhesion drops for no obvious reason. Because the K1 and K1C share dimensions, replacement plates listed for either fit both.
Where to buy
What to check
- 235 by 235 mm listed for the K1 or K1C. K1 Max plates are about 315 mm; K1 SE plates differ in mounting.
- Spring steel with a magnetic base fit; the K1 bed has a magnetic sheet already.
- Coating thickness stated; thick powder-coat lasts under ABS and PETG.
- Double-sided if you want smooth PEI as well.
Surface by material
- PLA: textured PEI, 50 to 60 °C.
- PETG: textured PEI, 70 to 80 °C; never bare smooth PEI.
- ABS and ASA: textured PEI at 90 to 100 °C with the lid and door closed, or smooth PEI with glue. Lifting means a cold chamber; preheat.
- Hyper PLA and fast prints: the same, with the plate washed more often; fast printing throws more debris.
The plates in the box
Creality’s own K1 textured plate and the official K1C 235 mm textured plate are the direct replacements; the K1C textured PEI kit is the same size from Creality with the magnetic base included for beds whose sheet has lifted. All three fit the K1 and K1C.
Swapping
- Wash the new plate with dish soap; handle by the edges.
- Drop it onto the magnetic bed aligned to the rear stop.
- Run the K1’s auto-leveling; it re-measures the plate.
- If the first layer fails, wash again; see smooth versus textured.
FAQ
Do K1 Max plates fit the K1? No; larger.
Do Ender 3 plates fit? Ender 3 plates are also 235 mm and physically fit; they lack nothing the K1 needs. Check the coating quality.
Why did my plate stop gripping in the middle? Coating wear or residue. Wash; if that fails, replace.
