Short answer

The Prusa Core One takes a steel sheet about 254 by 241 mm, the same size and locating pins as the MK4S, MK4 and MK3S sheets, so those plates fit. Buy a textured PEI sheet for PETG and most work, a smooth PEI sheet for glossy PLA, and consider Prusa’s satin sheet as the all-rounder. The Core One is enclosed, so ABS and ASA work on a textured or satin sheet without glue.

Prusa kept the MK4 sheet size for the Core One, which means the large third-party market of MK4-compatible sheets carries straight over. The Core One adds an enclosure, so its sheets see ABS and ASA far more often than an MK4’s do; that pushes the choice toward thick textured or satin coatings that survive 100 °C bed cycles.

What to check

  • Listed for the Core One or MK4 family, about 254 by 241 mm with the two rear locating pin holes. Plates for other printers do not fit.
  • Spring steel 0.5 mm or thicker so the plate stays flat on the magnets.
  • Coating thickness stated; the enclosed Core One runs ABS and ASA at bed temperatures that wear powder coat faster than PLA does.
  • Double-sided if you want smooth PEI as well as textured on one sheet.

Surface by material

  • PLA: textured or smooth PEI, 55 to 60 °C.
  • PETG: textured PEI, 70 to 80 °C; smooth PEI only with a glue-stick release layer.
  • TPU: textured PEI, 40 to 50 °C.
  • ABS and ASA: textured or satin PEI at 95 to 105 °C with the chamber warmed; smooth PEI with glue stick. Lifting on a warm Core One means a greasy sheet.

The plates in the box

The upgraded double-sided PEI plate for the Core One and the 254 by 241 mm Core One plate are the direct replacements; the two-pack listed for the MK3, MK3S+, MK4 and Core One fits all of them and is the economical way to keep a spare.

Swapping

  1. Wash the new plate with dish soap and hot water; dry; handle by the edges.
  2. Seat it against the rear stop on the magnetic bed.
  3. Run the printer’s auto-leveling so it measures the new plate; smooth and textured differ by a couple of tenths in Z.
  4. If the first layer will not stick, wash again before changing anything; see smooth versus textured.

FAQ

Do MK4S sheets fit the Core One? Yes; same size and pins.

Textured, smooth or satin? Textured for PETG and ABS, smooth for glossy PLA, satin as one sheet that does most things.

Do I need glue for ABS in the Core One? Not on textured or satin with the chamber warm.
