The SV08 is a large open CoreXY running Klipper, so it has the frame and firmware of a much pricier printer and the hotend and openness of a budget one. The upgrades that pay: a Micro Swiss FlowTech hotend for higher flow and tool-free nozzle swaps, a panel enclosure kit if you want ABS and ASA, and a filament dryer. Leave the motion system alone; it is already good.
Sovol built the SV08 on the Voron 2.4 design, which gives it a rigid frame, input shaping and a 350 mm bed for very little money. Where the price shows is the hotend and the missing panels. Both have clean upgrade paths, and because the SV08 runs stock Klipper, fitting either is a configuration change rather than a firmware battle.

Fitting a hotend
- Cool the hotend and unload filament.

Does the SV08 need a hardened nozzle? Only for abrasive filament; FlowTech nozzles come in hardened versions.
Can I print ABS on an open SV08? Small parts with a warm room; reliably, only with the panel kit.
