Elegoo Resin Printers: Mars, Saturn and Jupiter Explained

Elegoo’s resin lineup is three sizes: Mars (7-inch screen, about 153 × 78 × 165 mm), Saturn (10-inch, about 219 × 123 × 220 mm) and Jupiter (14-inch, about 278 × 156 × 300 mm). The current generations are Mars 5 and Saturn 4; “Ultra” adds tilt release, auto levelling and a camera. Buy a Mars 5 Ultra for a few figures at a time, a Saturn 4 Ultra for batches, and a Jupiter only for large single pieces.
Uncured resin is a skin and respiratory irritant. Wear nitrile gloves and eye protection, ventilate, wash in IPA in a covered container, and fully cure before handling. Never pour resin or wash down a drain.

Generations still worth buying
- Mars 4 Ultra and Mars 5: fine used; the 5 Ultra is the one to buy new. See the Mars 5 Ultra page.

- Jupiter SE: only if you need 300 mm Z and accept 51 µm pixels; a Saturn 4 Ultra 16K is sharper for everything that fits.
Why Elegoo dominates hobby resin
Price, tilt release on the Ultra models, a large accessory ecosystem (wash and cure stations, resin range), and a community that has profiles for most third-party resins. The trade-offs are a proprietary slicer path for some features and thinner support than Prusa-class vendors; Chitubox and Lychee work with all of them.
