HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0010: The Induction Hotend Rack Has Not Been Set Up

HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0010 means the hotend rack has never been through its setup procedure, so the machine will not use its functions. Bambu asks you to follow the instructions and complete the setup. Nothing is broken; the feature is simply not commissioned.
This is the code people meet on day one, and the one most likely to be mistaken for a defect out of the box.

Where to buy
What setup actually establishes
The machine has to learn where the rack is, where each slot sits relative to it, and that the lock mechanism works. Until that exists there are no slot positions to move to, which is why every rack function is unavailable rather than merely inaccurate.
Do it with the rack mounted properly
Fit and fasten the rack before starting, because setup measures what it finds. A rack that is loose during setup produces numbers that drift once it settles, and you will spend the following week chasing calibration codes instead of printing. Tighten the fasteners in sequence and check them again after the first few swaps.
Have the hotends ready and clean
Setup involves the machine handling tools, so clean mounting faces and tops matter from the first move. Residue present during setup becomes part of what the machine learns, and that is a worse starting point than a dirty machine later. The cleaning detail is in HMS 1A00-0100-0002-0033.
What HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0010 is not
It is not a failed calibration. A calibration that ran and produced a bad result is HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0001; this code means the procedure has not run. The distinction matters because cleaning fixes one and has no effect on the other.
After setup
Expect to meet the capacity limit next, because a working rack is one you start filling: HMS 1A00-1300-0002-0001 tells you when every bay is occupied. What the whole system buys you is covered in the H2D combo.
HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0010 FAQ
Can I print without setting it up?
Yes, single-tool. You lose swapping, not printing.
Does setup need to be repeated?
After a rack is removed, refitted or replaced, yes. Not between ordinary prints.
How long does it take?
Minutes, assuming the rack is mounted and the hotends are clean. Preparation is most of it.
Should I update firmware first?
It is worth doing, so that setup runs on the current procedure rather than an older one.
Once a rack is commissioned, the next surprise is a bay you never filled: HMS 1A00-0100-0002-0030, where the sliced plate is often asking for a tool you do not own.
