HMS 0700-9200-0002-0003: Fan Needs the Power Adapter

HMS 0700-9200-0002-0003 means the AMS heater cooling fan cannot start because the power adapter is not connected. The drying hardware needs its own supply, and on printer power alone there is not enough left for it.
This is the friendliest message in the family. Nothing is broken and the fix costs nothing if the adapter is in the box.

Where to buy
Use the adapter the unit expects
A 24 V supply made for the AMS 2 Pro is the correct part, and third-party versions exist if the original has gone missing. Check the voltage and the plug size before ordering anything, because both have to match.
Know the plug you are dealing with
A kit of 5.5 by 2.1 mm barrel jacks lets you identify, test or rebuild the connector. Most reported adapter faults are the plug rather than the brick behind it.
Give it a socket of its own
A surge-protected outlet extender behind the bench means the AMS adapter has somewhere to live instead of competing for the one socket the printer uses. It also keeps the adapter where you can see whether it is plugged in.
Then check the obvious thing honestly
Follow the cable from the AMS to the wall with your hand. A surprising share of these messages are an adapter that was unplugged to charge something else.
How HMS 0700-9200-0002-0003 differs from a low supply
An adapter that is connected but weak is HMS 0700-9800-0002-0001. This code means no supply at all rather than a poor one.
When the fan itself is the problem
A fan that has power and will not turn is HMS 0700-9200-0001-0001. What the newer unit adds is set out in AMS 2 Pro versus AMS and printers with an AMS.
HMS 0700-9200-0002-0003 FAQ
Can the AMS run on printer power?
For feeding, yes. For drying, it wants its own adapter.
Which voltage do I need?
24 V, and the plug size has to match. Check both.
Will printing stop?
No. Only the drying side is affected.
Is a generic adapter acceptable?
If voltage, current and plug all match, it works.
Some messages are about timing rather than hardware. HMS 0700-7400-0002-0007 means the Track Switch was plugged in during printing, and nothing is damaged: the filament path is planned when the job starts.
