HMS 0700-1000-0001-0001 — AMS slot 1 motor has slipped
Short answer

HMS 0700-1000-0001-0001 means the slot motor turned without moving the filament, and Bambu offers two causes: the extrusion wheel may be failing, or the filament may be too thin. Measure the filament first. It takes a minute with calipers and decides whether you need a part at all.

Note which motor this is. The slot motor drives one lane; the assist motor pulls from the spool. They slip for different reasons.

Bambu names two causes. Measuring the filament settles it for free.

Where to buy

Measure the filament before anything else

Nominal 1.75 mm filament should sit within about 0.02 mm of that figure. Take readings at several points along a metre of strand, because the problem with cheap filament is variation rather than a consistently wrong size. A strand that drops to 1.68 mm in places will slip through a perfectly good wheel at exactly those places.

Then look at the extrusion wheel

The wheel grips through a fine toothed pattern that fills with filament dust and flattens with use. Wipe it with the machine off and look at the teeth under a light: rounded teeth and a polished band across the middle both mean the grip has gone. This is a consumable, not a permanent part.

What slip costs downstream

A slipping lane feeds less than the machine believes, which corrupts the length measurement and shows up as the odometry complaint HMS 0700-0200-0001-0001. Seeing both codes together is normal and does not mean two faults.

Why HMS 0700-1000-0001-0001 is usually one slot

Each lane has its own motor and wheel, so wear is per lane and the busiest slot fails first. If the same spool slips in every lane, the filament is the cause; if one lane slips with every spool, the hardware is. The related overload fault is HMS 0700-1000-0002-0002, where the resistance is real rather than absent.

The spool itself

Filament that has been wound under tension, or has slipped under its own coil, binds hard enough to defeat the grip rather than the motor. Unwind a turn by hand and feel for the catch before blaming the mechanism. The assist side of this is HMS 0700-0100-0001-0001, and the layout is in printers with an AMS.

HMS 0700-1000-0001-0001 FAQ

Can I just use another slot?

Yes, and that is a reasonable stopgap. It also confirms the diagnosis: if the next slot handles the same spool, the first slot is worn.

Does the slot number in the message matter?

It does. It identifies the lane to inspect, which saves opening the whole unit.

Will drying the filament help?

Not for slip. Damp filament snaps and jams; it does not usually become undersized.

Are the wheels available separately?

Gear and wheel kits for the X1 and P1 series are sold as spares, which is cheaper than a unit swap when only the grip has gone.
