HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0002 — Disturbance on the sensor signal
Short answer

HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0002 means external disturbance was detected on the heatbed acceleration sensor, and that the sensor signal wire may not be fixed. A signal wire flapping around a moving bed picks up noise and movement that have nothing to do with what the sensor is trying to measure.

This is a wiring job, and it is one of the cheapest fixes in the whole HMS list.

The message points at the wire, not the sensor. Take it literally.

Where to buy

Secure the wire along its whole run

A loose lead on a moving bed is both an antenna and a pendulum. Adhesive-backed cable clips every few inches hold the run flat against the casting so it moves with the bed rather than against it.

Keep it away from the heater leads

Signal and mains-level heater wiring in the same bundle is how clean installations become noisy ones. Spiral cable wrap keeps the sensor lead as its own bundle, which costs a dollar and removes the coupling.

Then add a ferrite if it persists

Clip-on ferrite cores on the sensor lead suppress the high-frequency noise that drivers and heaters throw out. They are the standard answer to exactly this class of complaint and they take ten seconds to fit.

Check the connector while you are there

A connector that is seated but not latched gives intermittent disturbance that looks like interference. Press it home properly and route the lead so nothing tugs it at the end of travel. A heating-side wiring fault reads very differently — that is HMS 0300-0100-0001-000D.

How HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0002 differs from a weak signal

Weak signal means the sensor is not transmitting properly — that is HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0001 and usually a failed bond. Disturbance means the signal arrives polluted. Different fix, same small part.

What it affects

Vibration compensation, which is built from these readings. The mesh and calibration side is in bed levelling mesh, and the stuck-sensor case is HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0003.

HMS 0300-1B00-0001-0002 FAQ

Is external disturbance my fault?

Often, in the sense that an unsecured wire is the usual cause. That also makes it fixable.

Could a nearby machine cause it?

A noisy workshop makes it worse, but the wire is where to start.

Do ferrite cores really work?

For this complaint, yes. They are the cheapest thing that does.

Does it damage anything?

No. It degrades compensation rather than the hardware.
