HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0011 means the machine was about to lock a hotend in place and could not confirm it was there, so it stopped before closing the latch. Bambu asks you to check its installation on the toolhead. The hotend is almost certainly present but not seated the way the detection expects.
Of all the detection checks in this group, this is the last one before something mechanical happens. That is why it exists.

Where to buy
Reseat it properly, not harder
Take the hotend off and put it back with the power off, watching how it sits rather than how far it goes. A hotend that stops because something is behind it feels much like one that is home. Flush and not rocking is the standard, and pressing harder on a hotend sitting on debris only polishes the debris.
Look at what is between the faces
Residue on the hotend and in the toolhead’s mounting area both hold it a fraction out, and a fraction is enough at this distance. A brass brush on the metal, then a lint-free wipe with isopropyl alcohol, restores both surfaces without abrading them.
Then the magnet
These hotends carry a small magnet on the front face that the mechanism locates and senses against, and a missing one makes the hotend effectively invisible. Bambu names it explicitly in HMS 1A00-0100-0002-0023, which is worth reading before you order anything.
Why HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0011 is a good failure
Locking a latch onto a hotend that is not correctly seated is how mounts get damaged. Stopping at that exact point costs you a retry; carrying on would cost a part. The related poor-seating fault, caught slightly earlier, is HMS 1A00-0100-0002-0033.
If it is clean, seated and still invisible
The fault has moved into the sensing. Open and short faults on the presence sensor have their own codes, starting at HMS 1A00-3000-0001-0041, and reseating the toolhead connector is the first thing to try. Hotend construction is in 3D printing hotends.
HMS 1A00-1200-0002-0011 FAQ
Can I lock it manually?
Do not. The check is what stands between a misaligned hotend and a damaged mount.
Why does it pass sometimes?
Because a marginal seat sometimes lands correctly. Intermittent here means dirty rather than broken.
Does a third-party hotend cause it?
It can, if its faces or magnet differ. Test with one you know works.
Is the print recoverable?
Usually, since nothing has moved yet. Reseat and continue.
Homing is the move everything else depends on. HMS 1A00-E000-0001-0005 means a foreign object stopped the rack during it, and Bambu asks you to clear the whole movement path.
